Day Master guide · Fire, Yang

Yang Fire (Bing 丙): the open sun

If your day pillar’s stem is Bing, your Day Master is Yang Fire — image of the sun itself: light that falls on everyone without being asked. This guide reads the classical imagery and how it is used for reflection.

How the method fixes this Day Master

Bing is Fire in its Yang phase, the third Heavenly Stem. Like every Day Master it is fixed by the calendar: a birth day whose stem is 丙. The chart is then read as an arrangement of weather around that sun — clouds, rain, wood to burn, and how much of each there is.

The classical image

The sun is the fire that asks nothing back: it warms, reveals, and makes growth possible everywhere at once. Classical commentary praises Bing for openness — nothing hidden, everything in plain light — and also notes the sun’s limits: it cannot aim its warmth at one person only, and it needs something to shine on.

How the rest of the chart colors it

The classics read Yang Fire against its sky. Wood feeds the sun as fuel for sustained brightness; Water tempers it as rain tempers a hot season — welcome in measure, gloomy in excess; Earth catches the light as landscape. None of these are judgements of worth — they are the weather report your chart lays out.
